Oh my god - today is actually sunny and warm. I was starting to think we'd get all the way into June and not hit 80 degrees. Which, considering I live in a gorram desert, is a rather disturbing thought.

Am currently over at Mom's, because the brother locked himself out and the rents are in Gardnerville. So, as I have a little bit of time to kill before leaving for the movie, I thought I'd swing by lj and see what's what. Am leaving in about an hour to go see Sith with spkn4_4ever and her friend.

Hmm, spent yesterday bathing the kitty and then catching up on my sleep. Which would have worked better had I remembered to turn off my alarm clock and the alarm on my cell phone. As it turned out, I got around nine hours of sleep, but it was broken into three hour sessions. Still, it felt so good to turn over and go right back to sleep. And, I had a couple plot bunnies scampering through my dreams.

Been slowly taking myself through Photoshop. Not a tutorial, just kind of messing around with all the different functions. Getting into layer styles and the like. Starting to figure out how some of the kick-ass icons were made. Consequently updated the icon for bantha and added a couple more pretties to my icon collection. Still embarrassingly amateur, but I'm making progress.

I should be rather busy, what with everything I need to do before I leave on Wednesday, but I was too tempted to soak up the sun. Tomorrow I need to mow the lawn and then do some non-work-clothes laundry. And hit the library. And get the car looked over, because the brakes started squeaking last week. I'm kicking myself for not asking for Tuesday off, because then I wouldn't have to go in at all this week. Ah, well.

I tried to use Apple's recall website, but the stoopid thing kept insisting my battery's serial number was wrong, even though the model number matches the recall series. Grrr. Now I have to try the 800 number. I hate having to talk to an actual person. On the up side, it forced me to actually learn how to remove the battery. Suprisingly small, too.

OMG - went into work to get online with my laptop. Heard R. (former third shift) talking to the new hire, H. about how she was impressed that H. "soaked everything up like a sponge". But what made me spit soda out of my nose was when she went on to say how she works with "other people who just didn't soak anything in" and "couldn't learn the simplest things". I just died. Talk about your pot calling kettle black. I wanted to ask her if she finally learned how to make two-sided copies yet.

Ask her to save to a disk... or multi-up something... EVEN better.
