Good lord - all I want is a quintuplet. With a bracket and a 5. Which, according to Sibelius, is the equivalent of asking for the moon on a platter. With a side of quantum physics. How hard can that be?

Jeesh.

I think I need to take the rest of the summer off from the program. Lately everything I've worked on I end up hating halfway through. And it doesn't help that all the really tedious little stuff - dynamics, articulation, cleaning up parts, bowing (good lord, working out bowing in every part is like filling in the lines of the Sistine chapel's ceiling) - can only be done at the very end. And god help me if I want to add a bridge or introduction or coda or even a repeat, because unless I set it up that way from the start it's like changing a tire on the freeway without stopping. And there's no way to work a song bar by bar without becoming thoroughly sick of it.

Think I'll go mow the lawn.
