I hate doing taxes...

...really. It brings back all of my insecurities concerning math and prison time. Am multitasking in that am watching one of the movies I rented from the library. Is Italian, and that's about all I know. The subtitles are really really small, and I gave up reading them an hour ago. Suffice to say, is very depressing movie. And creepy. Also trying to sort through the tax papers I need, and the return. Papers everywhere, TV going, cat...cat frisky. So, I bribe him with a treat, and he sort of flops on the bed amidst the piles of paper, textbooks, mail, and other stuff. Movie ends, finally, and I go to turn the VCR off. Only, I can't find the remote. It was on the bed with everything else, so I shuffle stuff around, but still... no remote. More shuffling, because at this point it's a matter of pride... Five minutes later, I stop and squint at the cat.

"Are you sitting on the remote?" Of course, no answer. I poke his hindquarters and he hisses lazily. I figure that translates to either "I am The Cat, and if I were sitting on it, it would still be My remote, so hands off the Merchandise, cretina" or "No, it just happened to crawl under me while I was sitting here, so it can stay there". Rock of ages either way, so I give up and go do other stuff.

I think I need to hire a cat whisperer.

PS - saw Ice Age II and it was excellent. Haven't seen the first one, so I can't compare the two, but definitely entertaining. Must find soundtrack.
