I haven't been online since Sunday night because my poor wittle laptop is in the hands of DHL. The same shipping conglamorate that hired R, a fomer coworker who was fired for a host of reasons, coming to work drunk/high/loaded being one of them. Having not fully grasped the zen practice of unattachment, I tend to worry. Yes, pity me.

Work's been craptacularly busy with the dead animal people. See, there's this convention that comes to town once a year that caters to people who go on safaris and other "guided sporting experiences". Like, gonna-go-shoot-me-a-elepahnt experiences. Which means lots of international tourists with little english and absolutley no concept of what they want demanding insanely short turns times for a discount. It sucks to have to print out large format of people touting their ability to kill large mammals for the sheer pleasure of it.

Anyway, dinner calls. Ciao.

I have always been confused by deer hunters who are so proud of themselves for hunting down a little deer using a God-awful amount of technology ... you want to impress me? Sneak up on some animal and steal a tail hair off of it without your blessed technology.

Having said all of that ...

While in Africa we learned how the "trophy hunters" are the backbone that keeps the game ranches alive. Those game ranches are actually a great thing for the environment, culture, and economics of those countries. As much as I don't like those types of people - I put them in the same category as poison ivy ... it serves a purpose for the environment and supports a lot of animals but I don't want to go anywhere near it.
